Simon Fraser University (SFU) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology
Karen Mangat was born and raised in Richmond, BC and joined Campbell Froh May & Rice LLP in 2021.
Prior to attending law school, Karen graduated ‘with distinction’ from Simon Fraser University (SFU) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
While at SFU, she spent 3 years as a Research Assistant in an Experimental Psychology and Law Lab, which ultimately led her to pursue a career in law.
Karen completed her Juris Doctor at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in Kamloops, British Columbia in 2017. During her time in law school, she was a Student Mentor, Event Coordinator for TRU South Asian Law Students’ Association, and volunteered with the Legal Services Society of British Columbia.
After being called to the BC bar in 2018, she practiced at a boutique family law firm in South Surrey where she gained invaluable litigation experience and successfully advocated for her clients in BC Supreme Court and BC Provincial Court. Her practice includes drafting family law agreements (cohabitation, marriage, and separation agreements), and assisting clients with uncontested divorce applications. Karen is expanding her practice to include wills, succession and estate planning, estate litigation and employment law.
Karen is passionate, approachable, and always eager to assist clients with their legal disputes. Karen’s primary focus is to provide her clients with a practical and cost-effective approach to their legal issues and to find creative solutions that are individually tailored to her clients’ needs.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, reading, going to the gym, and on occasion, binge-watching shows on Netflix.
Karen is fluent in English and Punjabi.
